This is a recreated story that is based on a true account of an actual event that had happened…

I was inserted into the jungle with the help of the Special Forces on the 26/08 in the year of 2005. It was a rainy Friday morning as our unit gather at the meeting point. We had our equipment checked and we could hear the national anthem played in the background. We loaded the truck at approx 0845hrs.

Upon arriving at the drop zone, I immediately made myself disappear into the jungle, my mission is to scout the terrain and to provide vital informations for the friendly forces which will in turn lead them out of the jungle. On top of that, my ultimate mission is to evade from the enemies.

As soon as I reached CP1, I scout the area and I set up my position to gather vital info. I left the loctaion within 3 minutes to ensure I wasnt an sitting duck for the enemy snipers.

I proceeded up to the high point of the jungle to have a beta view of the surroundings… I then heard voices from the foot of the hill… "Shit!! I’m being tracked…" I said to myself. I grabbed my equipment and I was left with only one choice - to cross the suspension bridge and risked being spotted by the enemies. 

I walked fast to make sure that I don make any noise… But from the back I could hear very clearly that the enemies were approching fast… I’ve got to make a dash to the other end!!! Despite the risk of exposing myself, I believe that is the only thing i can do at that point of time…

"Look, he’s there!!!" I could hardly made up what the enemies says.. I finally made it to the other side of the hill when i heard them saying… "I’ve got to run…" I think to myself… I ran up the hill in order to make my way down from the other side… It was tiring but I have left with no choice… It was a record time for me I guess, to be able to reach the foot of the other hill in just around 10 minutes..

I set up my CP7 on the tree. Then from the corner of my eyes i saw them… "Tats it!!!" I think to myself… "i’m doomed.." I tried to evade from them but its too difficult as they had 15 of them and I have only myself… I quickly draw out my communication deivce and request for assistance… "Raven to Justin Msg over!.. I’m currently being tracked down by the enemies.. Assistance required!!!" But HQ was being pinned under fire…"I’ll try my best to help you Raven.. Take care.." With the assurence from Lt Justin I felt much relief but still, I’ve got to rely on my own… Or maybe not…

Just as I was about to give up, Cpl Ryan came to my rescue… He stopped the enemies using his MG and I quickly escape from the situation… I ran all the way down the opened track and I set up 6-7 CP along the way as I know jolly well that the friendlies need these CP desperately… Their only way of evasion is thru my CPs…

I made contact with the friendlies via my comm set… I reported my location and I realised they themselves have trouble evading the enemies… I got to set up my CPs to help them evade the enemies and at the mean time, I’ve got to make sure I do not compromise my mission…

I reached the border where the jungle meets the civilisation… I skirt pass the custom and I ran along the road and along the way I set up a few CPs… I comm my men and i realised the enemies were tracking me down fast… They are approx 15 mins behind me… I ran from the moment I cut off the comm. Moments later i arrived at a bridge which leads into the other side of the border… The border was not controlled by any one at all.. I made a quick assessment and I decided to cross it.. Once I made sure the area was safe, I made a dash across the bridge… In no time I was on the other side of the bridge..

I had to scout the surroundings for good locations of CPs and at the same time to ensure I am fast enough so that the enemies are not able to catch up with me.. I then reached the friendly land.. It was a beautiful sight as I know home is just behind the hill… Now all I have to do is to set up the CPs for the friendlies and head to the pick up point to be lifted to safety… "Billy to Raven msg over.. I cant seem to locate yr CP at the transportation pipe line Over!" "I did not plant any CPs at the pipe line, proceed to the next CP from the info U get previously Over!"

I came to an open field but no one was there except me and the wild animals… It was indeed a beautiful sight… Time was 1046hrs.. I’ve been trying to escape for around 1hr… Yet they are still behind me… "Bunch of Assholes!!"

I then made myself disappear into the home bound jungle and I set up a few more CPs… "This is my home ground… I know where you guys are heading and what you guys are thinking mann…" I cunningly think to myself… Then my comm set sounded. Its Josh. Her location was too far off from my CPs… I diverted her back to the route which she’s suppose to take.. I’ve to cut my comm early as to ensure the enemies will not be able to detect my location thru the frequency I’m using…

I heard shots fired in the jungle… I switch my weapon’s mode to Burst and I try to move fast and quietly… I then heard people shouting out loud opposite the valley… Its the path I took earlier.. "They are here…"  "Comon U bunch of assholes…!!!" I made my way thru the thin and torturous trail where certain part of the trials stinks like hell as the rotten bodies were left untouched for days… I made myself carefully pass them… 

The only thing for me to ease my tension are the wild animals roaming around early in the morning… But I know I cant stop rite now.. I’ve got to make it to the safety zone… Just in front of me I saw this track which turn to my right… "Thats it!!, I’ve finally made it to this far…" I turned into the track and i was greeted immediately by some patrols… "Nice to see some friendly around again…" but was wondering if the friendlies behind me are doing fine.. I set up the Final CP21 and I comm my HQ… "Safety Zone to HQ msg Over!!" " Mission accomplished,Wats yr location, are the rest doin fine? Over!!" All was doing fine and just as I was about to cut my comm, I was greeted by an even more friendlier sight… It’s Cpl Ryan and Evelyn… " Team Fifteen and Best Team arrived at Safety Zone…" I reported to HQ.

We greeted each other and we exchanged our experiences… "Raven to Martin msg Over!!"      " Team fifteen and Best Team had check into Safety Zone Over!!" I reported to Cpt Martin… Moments later, Team Survival and Team !XO also reached the Safety Zone…

It was a welcoming sight… We then headed to the moblie HQ to wait for our transport to take us out of the area… It was a tiring 2hrs in the jungle…
